It’s finally sunshine and blue skies this March in Bali! After months of rain and grey skies, we’re finally able to enjoy Bali as it is meant to be enjoyed. With plenty of sunshine to go around, we’re thrilled to welcome the third month of the year, which is also a great time to visit Bali for the Nyepi celebrations that mark the start of the Hindu New Year. Those of you who already know the drill, Nyepi means complete silence for 24 hours - the entire island goes into total shut down mode and everyone is prohibited from going outside, making loud noises, travelling and even working - and for those who have not yet experienced Nyepi, you’re missing out! This globally unique Balinese celebration runs for a week or so, with preparations taking place weeks before.

An absolute don’t miss is the Ogoh-Ogoh Parade that takes place on the eve of Nyepi. Also do not miss the entire series of intricate ceremonies before and after Nyepi Day, which you can easily observe while you’re here in Bali. To find out more, flip over to our Don’t Miss pages for details. Our other favourite thing about Nyepi is the amazing hotel deals that are available during this time. Check out our Hot Deals pages for Nyepi deals at your favourite hotels and villas that would include relaxing stays in some of the best rooms in town, breakfast, lunch and dinner, F&B and Spa discounts as well as free use of the hotel’s amenities. Turn over a few pages and check out everything fresh and new on the island this month in our What’s New section. Party people, Party Agenda gives you the most exciting and thrilling parties and don’t forget to check out all the winners this month in Bali Best Awards. As usual, our Reviews are personal recommendations, ones that are tried and tested to ensure that you get only the best out of your time here in Bali. This month, Courtyard Seminyak brings the best from the sea to you with its Seminyak Fish Market that takes place every Saturday at Seminyak Kitchen. KORI Restaurant, Bar & Catering is offering organic avocados fresh from its very own garden! Hotel Santika Seminyak is the place to go for a traditional Balinese feast called “Megibung” and High Tea at The ANVAYA Beach Resort Bali is a great afternoon treat. BIMC Siloam Nusa Dua is all about reversing the effects of ageing and Central Kuta Money Exchange is still the best and safest place on the island to conduct your financial transactions. Don’t forget to visit Poppies Cottages in Kuta when you’re feeling nostalgic and need some quality “me” time.
