Release Date: 06 June 2018.

This June, Bali will be celebrating the culmination of the Galungan celebrations as they prepare for the departure of their Ancestors back to Heaven on Kuningan Day. While this is a deeply spiritual and religious day, it will also lend an air of festivity to the streets of Bali, and you’ll most likely get the chance to enjoy many Barong Bangkung performances by small Balinese children as they roam the streets accompanied by traditional musical instruments like cymbals and gongs. It is usually customary to give a small donation to the children while the Barong is performing - it is believed that Barong Bangkung roams the streets on this day to purify towns and villages - another charming appeal unique to the Island of the Gods.

Be sure that you don’t miss out on any thrilling Balinese cultural events while you’re here – the island is so much more than shopping and beachclubs; while they are definitely part of the attraction, Bali’s breathtaking culture and people are what makes the island unique, and why we love Bali so much. Check out our Don’t Miss section to see what else you can view this month, and our What’s New and Hot Deals pages for the newest and most exciting value deals in June. Reviews are personally tried and tested testimonials by us for you – this month we’re featuring Mason Adventures and their tireless efforts to save the Sumatran Elephants in a setting that is almost the exact replica of its natural habitat in the village of Taro. They are Bali’s number 1 adventure operator for 3 decades now, and you can experience Bali’s land, air and sea with them!
