The first thing that usually comes to mind when you hear the word ‘summer’ is, of course, ‘holiday’. I believe that you can take a holiday at any time and, no matter what the season, there are always interesting places to go and new things to see; and there is always another hotel to offer a different ambience and set the scene for you.

So, for anyone planning a summer holiday, in this issue we offer you some ideas of places you might like to visit. Some of the most interesting destinations, fabulous resorts, wonderful food experiences and great spas we could find.

If you wish to spend the summer in Bali, we feature three villas to choose from; The Kayana, Peppers Seminyak and the Pushpapuri Villa. For something further afield we present you with some great accommodation in Singapore and Phuket; Tree Top Loft, Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong and The Surin Phuket.

If you are seeking health and wellbeing we look at the ESC Spa located at a very beautiful new resort, the Radisson Blu Bali Uluwatu; there is ESPA in Singapore and the Amatara Wellness Resort in Phuket, all places that provide interesting, top-notch services to keep you relaxed and stress-free.

In the journey’s section, we take a closer look at Bhutan, an amazing country hidden away in the Himalayas that has been able to resist the inexorable march of progress and the stressful trappings of our hectic modern lifestyles.

In our Five Best section we have suggested five tropical islands that satisfy the desire for a tropical island holiday complete with stunning beaches, blue seas, tropical vegetation, well-appointed places to stay, good food and perhaps some nightlife after dark. These are places you can laze on the beach but also with lots to keep you busy if that is what takes your fancy.

Next Island takes us to Malaysia’s Redang Island and to Indonesia’s Komodo Island and the surrounding islands that make up the World Heritage area of the Komodo National Park. Fascinating places with their own unique points of interest that will stay with you.

To complete our offerings for this issue, we look at some superb restaurants that will tempt the palate of even the most discerning of diners including Padi at Desa Visesa Ubud, Nelayan Restaurant & Bar, Labyrinth, Le Du and more.
