November is normally the month not a hellova lot happens.
Right before the storm of Christmas New Year’s and after
the rains should have begun, but seldom do, we normally
find ourselves in a bit of a no-man’s land. However, last
week, November kicked off with the opening shows at Café
del Mar, particularly Sunday’s Nick Warren show which was
a burster, then the not-so-very-surprising show at Ku De
Ta, Glitterbox took the lid off the beginning of November
and imagine, it was a Tuesday night at that! If you were
there, you would know what I mean. And, if you missed it,
not to worry, ‘cause his weekend is a rather big exception
to the nothing-going-on rule, too. Friday kicks off with the
grand master Steve Aoki doing his enormously famous EDM
show down at Omnia Bali. That’s sure to be packed to the
proverbial rafters, everybody loves a piece of his cake.
Saturday night sees another master from another genre in
Woobar, James Zabiela, who will be serving up some tasty
house and techno for the devotees. Sunday we finish off
with Cristoph, the new face of progressive, (check the
interview on page 44). This fella has been turning heads all
over the dance music world in the last year or so and we
have him for another grand Sunday evening at Café del Mar
this weekend.
One more big event happening next week is the soft
opening of the much anticipated ShiShi club in Petitenget.
The three floors of opulence; restaurant lounge, tech-house
club and open format rooftop is ready to softly open next
week Nov 23 – 29.
Keep ya hats on everyone, here comes another grand
couple of weeks on the island of Bali. Keep up with what
is happening around town inside the beat magazine or
online thebeatbali.com or Instagram @thebeat.bali. Also
remember to follow the live pictorial action on BeatLife.
Have a great couple of weeks ahead.
